Now open your face photo and lets start.
1-Duplicate the Background layer and change its blend mode to Overlay:
3-Go to Layer>New Adjustment >Gradient Map then :
4-Now go back to the background layer then duplicate it and drag it to the top:
Now drag it to the top :
5-Now go to Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlights then:
6-Finally if you want to make the effect more visible select the first Layer (the gray layer):
Then Click on (Ctrl+J) two or three times.
Now this is the result:
